Sharpen commends the organization, “Students Against Violence Everywhere” for promoting National Youth Violence Prevention Week. SAVE’s campaign aims to “raise awareness on youth violence and the ways to prevent or reduce it.” This week-long national initiative includes activities that demonstrate how young people play positive roles in making their schools and communities safer.
A Role For Everyone
As part of Sharpen’s response to COVID-19, we have released a free version of our app for college students. The content includes strength-based approaches that improve a student’s ability to cope with stress and difficulty. And also resources for sexual assault, domestic violence and suicide prevention. In March 2020, The New York Times reported that COVID stay-at-home orders could increase risk for domestic violence. Sharpen is doing our part to support individuals who could be struggling and invite individuals to please share the resources.
