This January 20th to 24th SharpenMinds joins together with GLSEN to celebrate No Name-Calling Week.
Name-calling and Bullying has been a significant problem worldwide. It is one of the most common types of violence among kids or adolescents. That is why the K-12 educators and students organized GLSEN's no name-calling week to end bullying in schools.
This was founded in 2004 with Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing, and evaluated by GLSEN research. James Howe's novel The Misfits has inspired the No Name-Calling Week. It is about students who, after experiencing name-calling, ran for student council on a No Name-Calling platform.
Let’s all take a moment this week to stress the importance of kindness and proactively add kindness into everyday action. Check out ways to participate and put #KindnessInAction.
