For more than 20 years, we have had the incredible honor of collaborating with young people to learn from them, with them, and to feature them in our evidence-based mental health literacy programs. In this way, every young person we work with informs the health of other teens - grounded in both scientific rigor and human compassion. We have seen over and over again - their stories of resilience and strength truly inspire and empower others.

This fall we are our collaborating again with five students from UC Berkeley's Data Discovery program. Similar to prior years, we are learning from the students and leveraging their incredible talent and expertise. This time; however, we have an opportunity to leverage the Sharpen library of over 4,000 films and 700 evidence-based modules to train our proprietary AI algorithm.

Our shared commitment to mental health and ethical innovation has led us to creating a rich foundation for personalized mental health support for children and adolescents. What's been most inspiring is the authentic connection each student has to our mission. Resiliency Technologies CEO, Robyn Hussa Farrell, is truly blown away by the kindness:

It is truly inspiring to see the level of dedication and commitment to helping other children and adolescents. It gives me hope and optimism about the next generation of leaders.

Every student involved has expressed deep interest in powering healthy minds through evidence-based strategies. They understand that working with sensitive mental health data demands responsibility, empathy, and an unwavering commitment to ethical data practices.

One student's reflection particularly moved us:

As a first-generation international student, balancing academic and professional pressures with the challenges of adapting to a new environment deeply shaped my own mental health journey. That experience makes me value opportunities to work on projects that foster resilience and growth, and I'm proud to contribute to a team focused on making a difference in people's well-being.

This sentiment captures why we founded Resiliency Technologies back in 2014. Mental health challenges affect everyone - from students navigating new cultures, to professionals managing workplace stress, and to parents seeking tools to build resilience. When the people developing mental health technology have walked similar paths to those they're helping, the result is more human-centered innovation.

The Berkeley Data Discovery students are genuinely helping us create a recommendation system that truly understands the nuanced needs of people seeking mental health support. Their work ensures our AI recommendations match individuals with the right intervention at the right time, while maintaining our strict ethical standards around data privacy.

We're grateful to UC Berkeley's Data Discovery program and to every young person who has brought their talent, perspective, and heart to the Sharpen platform.
