SharpenFAMILY of a father, mother and their daughter

Created in collaboration with the United Way of the Piedmont and more than 15 agencies specializing in child advocacy and childhood development, Sharpen Family is a fabulous resource for parents (especially for foster parents and parents of young children).  Built in a trauma-informed framework, Sharpen Family contains a library of over 400 educational modules on mental health topics, to support families through COVID-19 and beyond.

Sharpen Family does not replace the importance of a counselor.  We can educate and assist individuals in connecting to treatment providers in their area.

Sharpen Family is being offered at no cost to South Carolina families in response to COVID-19.  The evidence-based resources help families cope with anxiety, depression and other mental health challenges. There are also stress management and mindfulness tips to assist the whole community during this trying time.

The educational modules contained in Sharpen Family qualify as certification requirements for SC foster parents through the SC Foster Parent Association.  To obtain a printable certificate for training hours, email Robyn Hussa Farrell at rfarrell@sharpenminds.com to register.  Pre and post-survey participation is required.
